The Fire Within

It has been said that anger is the "fire within”, yet what exactly does that mean? It means that every time we are triggered by feeling anger or victimized, we are stoking the embers of the fire within.

Why is it important to recognize and acknowledge how we are responding in the moment to a situation or circumstance–to life's triggers? The importance lies in recognizing that those triggers indicate that we are still carrying resentment or a story connected to the experience that is poisoning our well being. If we allow these feelings to simmer without acknowledging them they continue to burn inside of us, deeply affecting our daily lives in mind, body, soul, and spirit.

Anger is a normal response to situations that we perceive as an offense or misunderstanding. The instance of when we feel this welling up of disjointed emotions is the instance when we need to be aware of releasing them in a way that is healing and healthy–to upload, release and neutralize them.

We do not want to deny what is, however we do want to acknowledge and ask ourselves where is this coming from and why. What do I need to do to embrace, feel, and release energetically, so this feeling does not permeate the flow of our experience of gratitude today?

There is a place that we can get to where we are detached from these assaults, from these missteps from ourselves and others without the blame, condemnation, or assignment of guilt. The place is forgiveness.

Freedom from history that is often causing such havoc and conflict does not happen overnight. It is an ongoing process of acceptance and responsibility which takes time.

When we feel these embers of the fire within beginning to erupt, it is time to pay attention to what we need to address and work through it to ultimately be set free from the shackles of shame and condemnation.

We need to be kind with understanding and humility to ourselves and others, and thank it for what it is showing us for our spiritual growth regarding forgiveness and gratitude so we can move on!

Eventually no longer a fire, but a remnant of ashes of the past that gave us lessons for today. Then we can walk sure-footed with clarity, humility, and integrity for better days on the horizon!

Stay well, stay safe, and step into your freedom.

In gratitude,

Sharon
